2. Unfair Double Taxation: Paying both at the pump and at renewal
AS the rate of unemployment it's so high ,food, electricity, petrol and everything keeps on going up how should we survive whereas we don't even have unemployment funds atleast to avoid such strain. Cos R370.00 can't sustain a person in this economic situation ?

4. Flawed Electric Vehicle (EV) Pretext: Blanket penalty on fuel users
The taxation fuel is out of control. It seems to be a catch all for the government. Taxation, if applied, should not be on a percentage basis and should not be applied to price pressure increases as is currently the case.

Die ANC is weer besig om ‘n poel geld te skep wat hulle kan plunder in hul nimmer-eindigende “honger” vir fondse om te steel van die RSA bevolking.

1. Emergency Relief: Reinstate the GFL relief that ended 30 June 2026
1. The system is the main means of self-enrichment of the few who control the state and private sector. The major consequences of escalating fuel prices are rocketing prices for all commodities and services continuously become inaccessible to the poor - sentenced to perpetual want and starvation as if non-citizens.
2. Instances like RAF have become conduits for money laundering as they finance legal representatives mor than road victims.
3. The government and the Presidency of this country is fully aware of the plight of the citizens the system deprives opportunities to go out and search for employment as transport costs are beyond their reach.
4. Most if not all our neighbouring states have lower fuel prices than South Africa through which their transports pass.
5. The Zama Zamas miners are encouraged by the government's supportive attitude to their activities and are never taxed to ensure that the regime is in a position to lower the fuel prices and increase opportunities to generate more jobs- where interaction between potential investors and job seekers would meet.
    • Securing Third-Party Accident Support: The Road Accident Fund provides an essential constitutional and social safety net for vulnerable road users, pedestrians, and low-income accident victims who cannot afford private medical insurance. Without financial solvency, the Fund faces collapse.
    • Adapting to New Technology: As the automotive fleet gradually transitions toward hybrid and electric vehicles, traditional fuel levy collections will decline. Introducing alternative funding streams ensures all road users contribute equitably to the compensation system.
    • Revenue Predictability: Relying solely on volumetric fuel sales exposes statutory bodies to volatile global oil markets and fuel demand destruction. A fixed annual licence disc charge provides steady, predictable income to settle medical claims.
    • The Reality of Double Taxation: Charging motorists over R6.00/litre in fuel taxes while simultaneously adding a secondary surcharge onto annual licence discs punishes vehicle owners twice for the same basic public service.
    • Refusing to Deploy Proven Relief: Earlier in 2026, government proved it could slash the General Fuel Levy (even cutting diesel tax to zero) to shield consumers. Refusing to reinstate that relief during a projected R4.58/l surge while plotting new taxes is indefensible.
    • A Blank Check for Legal Inefficiency: The RAF’s deficit is not caused by inadequate taxpayer support, but by systemic mismanagement, billions lost to attorney contingency fees, and procedural backlogs. Granting extra levies without fixing internal governance disincentivizes genuine reform.
    • Economic Shocks and Food Inflation: Fuel is the primary operational input for agriculture and freight transport. When combined with impending international fuel price shocks, state-induced tax hikes directly accelerate grocery inflation, taxi fares, and small business closures.
