Winnie was a murderer and not an asset to SA.
Name a street in Soweto after her.
Sandton has hadvthat name far too long to change it. And, a complete eadte if money. Feed the poor instead. Build a safe house in Soweto for women who are abused.

Stop wasting our tax money. There is nothing wrong with the name Willam Nicol. Use our tax money on more important things like re tarring our roads

The ANC needs to stop wasting money on changing names of roads and areas. There are real life and death situations that need money spent on them. Fund your firefighters properly, focus on service delivery. And when that is done and JHB stops looking like a rubbish dump, then maybe think about changing names. And then I will still oppose it, because it costs the tax payer and business owners far too much money.

This is a waste of money everyone knows where william nicol is.the ANC should focus the money more into a proper police force or food for the homeless

William Nicol believed in teaching education in the person's mother tongue and said any education taught in a second language would hinder a persons growth and learning ability. Thus he also helped translate the Bible with help from African religious leaders into Zulu.
There is no speaking of Winnie Madikizela-Mandela without hearing about the 14-year-old boy Moeketsi “Stompie” Seipei, who was murdered.
Use the money wisely
The people of this land are suffering. Better the drainage and sewerage to improve low lying informal settlements

Why are the City of Johannesburg insistent on wasting precious resources that could be better spent on maintaining the city infrastructure, feeding/housing the poor by renaming a street after a MURDERER!!!

We only seem to “honour” criminals in this country, so NO I AM NOT IN FAVOUR OF HONOURING A MURDERER.

In a time of economic upheaval and emergency it is stupid to spend money on something like rename a road. Surely jobs and housing must be a higher priority especially now?

Please stop spending money on useless name changing. Instead spend it on uplifting the economy and employment. Renaming a street helps the economy nothing.

This country is in so much debt and wasting money is purely ridiculous, South Africa has so many battles to be won and renaming roads or places should not be even considered.

The funds should be used to assist those who've lost the jobs due to the lockdown.

Millions are starving whilst the ANC have been looting funds. This isn’t necessary to have a road renamed at this time.

Firstly, we should not be spending money on name changes now when our country and citizens are in crisis. Please rather spend the money on creating productive jobs for the 2.2 million people who lost their jobs this year.
Secondly, that name is very long and not a practical choice for a street name. Imagine the spelling mistakes!
There is too much controversy surrounding her.
I believe new developments should bear the names of public figures instead of changing the names of existing infrastructure.
