Next there seems to be a substandard regards to excellence in police stations , there is a lack of professionalism and excellence and that needs to be addressed. Third all races should be allowed to apply for the police service and staff must be fit to do their jobs properly, staff accepting bribes should be fired. We need an ethical effective police service that fights crime and protects citizens |

We don't need new policing laws, we just need to get rid of corruption and this starts from the government and filters down. |

There are many people in the police force who are serious about upholding the law and are doing all they can to make Soith Africa. Rather find and root oit those who are corrupt and habe no real inferest in doing the work. Support them all and enable them to do their job knowing the Government appreciates their work. Give proper training from people who want to do the job and enable them to do an honest job without having to resort to bribes. Give them support and provide counselling for those who need it. Be responsible examples |

From the top -down select people who are qualified and committed to execute these key points. Now that my family is also a stat like many other citizens, it just re-iterates the concerns we have always had. Our Brother/brother-in Law (81 years old!!) was recently ruthlessly murdered (premeditated) in Johannesburg. Due to the circumstances of the murder, we have found it extremely difficult to accept, in particular the gory details as reflected in the Post Mortem report. No one in SAPS bothered to suggest possible trauma counselling for ourselves. All efforts to make contact with the Ministry of Police, SAPS HQ ( 12 contact numbers as well ass 7 email addresses) to address major concerns, (as reflected in our letter)weren't enough to generate any response!! As stated at the start, select people with, Integrity, Compassion, qualifications, Training etc. etc. to deal with crime at the level it should be. |

The minister of police is not a police & has no ecpectice in policing. Police should be there for the country not corrupt politicians & they should work independently away from any political parties. We need to reconnect, reconcile, reunite the community & police to reinstate trust. |
