Karen | Not fully | Hydraulic fracturing for onshore oil and gas | I don’t know enough about the topic of fracking, but am concerned about geology issues (drilling) and the effect on municipal water (disposal of waste from fracking). I also have concerns about how well this will be managed (based on previous government management… or non-management!) |
Ernest | No I do not | The regulations in entirety | Stop fracking. It destroys our environment |
Heather | No I do not | The regulations in entirety | affecting our water - we are in a dry area and dont even have enough water for normal use. Affecting our underground water. NO NO NO |
Mel | No I do not | Hydraulic fracturing for onshore oil and gas | The world as a whole needs to move away from energy that in the long term causes more damage to an already failing planet. Renewable energy should be at the top of the list. Spend the money and resources there instead. |

Tim | No I do not | Exploration or production for onshore oil and gas | South Africa is a water scarce country. It is a too valuable, life sustaining resource, to permit any interference or threat from industry for fracking which requires the use of water, and damage to the environment. The world is moving away from fossil fuels which are proven to increase Global Warming. SA must move towards alternative sustainable energy sources, and not proceed with further fossil fuel dependence. It is time to make a clean break from all further fossil fuel exploration. These regulations only cover ONSHORE exploration. SA must also ban OFFSHORE exploration. We have a responsibilty to preserve and protect our oceans and make SA a safe haven & habitat for marine life and future generations of its Citizens |
