The DA increased water prices during the drought but did not re-adjust it afterwards. We are overpaying on water and sewerage and despite the horrible economic conditions, it just continues to flog the people who pay rates.

All that it is is a "wealth tax" in disguise. But we are not seeing any improvements in terms of cleaning up etc etc. which always formed part of basic service delivery. Now we have to pay extra. You lost my vote.

Vanderbijlpark is in total disrepair. Only a fraction of the roads and traffic lights are maintained. Everything is just degrading. I lived there for 47 years and it is now a shadow of what it used to be. Crime, poverty, litter, lack of maintenance.... a sight for sore eyes.... Everything that used to be beautiful is neglected, dead and dull. People are selling off whatever they can to survive and it is turning into what looks like the 3rd world and not a civilized place where people have some pride in their surroundings. Just a "dog eat dog world"

The DA run city is part of the DA national, which claims to be pro-poor and wants to get the economy growing. The proposed increases will stifle economic growth and burden the middle class, essentially making it unaffordable to live in Cape Town for any, but the very poor and the wealthy. This budget contributes to government bureaucratic bloat and inefficiency. The budget should be rejected and the proposed "cleaning levy" tossed into the dustbin of history.
