2026-02-09 09:24:17 +02:00 | Spencer | No I do not | Weaponising laws | I find it completely atrocious that our so-called 'leaders' can do with the constitution whatever they want. This is just way, to weaponize the law to suit their agenda of genocide. Today the focus may be a different group, whatever suits their agenda and tomorrow it may be you for the same reason. Stop this at all costs. |

2026-02-09 00:06:21 +02:00 | John | No I do not | Weaponising laws | I find it completely atrocious that our so-called 'leaders' can do with the constitution whatever they want. This is just another act of brainless so-called 'humans' (even sea-slug crap at the bottom of the ocean has more brain cells), to weaponize the law to suit their agenda of genocide. Not only (but mainly) white people, but also their own people that oppose their views. I would much rather be seen supporting apartheid, than be seen support communist dictators. Or brainless @^#*&%*. I have the greatest respect for people of colour that are able to see through the smoke and mirrors of these so-called leaders. Unfortunately, they are only a small percentage of the population. The ANC knows it is going to lose more and more votes, and this is just another way for them to try and swing the next election in their favour. It is my constitutional right to think what I want and support what and who I want. I will NOT bow down to any brainless dictator, These idiots can't just change the constitution to suit themselves. It is against the law! It is against all human rights. And above all, it is stupid and unethical!! |

We all have a right to what we believe in and support now we need a law that criminalizes your choices. Why choose only Israel have the Bill Makers had a look at the rest of the world ... there are many palaces in the world where terrible atrocities are being committed why not go after them if you have nothing better to do. |

2026-02-07 16:25:55 +02:00 | Fanie | No I do not | Other | ACTIVELY IMPLEMENT plans to identify, remove and punish corrupt systems and individuals, that caused and is causing the whole, terrible situation First, reduce government salaries, reduce the number of government employees, file charges and punish the thieves of taxpayer money, don't outsource, instead hire merit-based people to do that job like they did in the old days, but keep salaries livable. Looking to the medium and long term, surely the wisest use of funds (among other more liberal pathways) would be to provide radio and TV-mediated education on the rationale seeking the Living God. To provide divine intimacy to urgently reduce drug use, crime, corruption and disrespect for human life. Perhaps even provide biblical norms and prayer time to seek the Living God for this. Impossible to set it all out here , but where the public tends to point fingers at ministers, we too must take responsibility at an individual level, take (our own) destiny into our own hands, look more pragmatically at the already critical here and now and down the timeline. Raise our defined understanding of Biblical life standard (demographic density understanding for resources/abuse of substances, etc). While working on projected failure of agricultural produce driven by goverment mismanagment - what land we have already under pressure, nature and livestock suffering, current classroom sizes, lack of infrastructure, suboptimal provision of medicine including foot and mouth vaccinis, unemployment - everything. Fewer people in government, fewer problems, easier to steward, and a greater ratio of resources per capita, improved quality of life. Don't shy away from the simplicity. BUT, we need relevant education, assistance, and motivation to change mindset. We didn't reject the convenient introduction of corrution graduly, so it follows we owe it to our own freewill and higher level cognition to exercise duty as Man in exchange for human privilege, and compensate for this by limiting the sinfull rate - all of us together. |

DO NOT TOUCH THE Constitution and make it worse, "APARTHEID " I Suppose if the sun is not comming up it will be "appartheid " the reason why. If you keep living in the past you cannot move forward. 2026-02-06 16:37:21 +02:00 | Joscelyn | No I do not | Constitutional issues | Submission on the Implementation of the International Convention on the Suppression and Punishment of the Crime of Apartheid Bill, 2025 1. Introduction I am writing as a concerned citizen of the Republic of South Africa to formally record my opposition to the Implementation of the International Convention on the Suppression and Punishment of the Crime of Apartheid Bill, 2025. While the eradication of apartheid in all its forms is a noble and necessary global goal, I believe this specific Bill, in its current form, presents significant constitutional risks and threatens the fundamental rights of South African citizens. 2. Points of Objection 2.1 Violation of Freedom of Expression and Opinion (Section 16) The Bill seeks to criminalize support for entities or states involved in complex international conflicts where the definition of "apartheid" may be a point of global legal and political dispute. By doing so, the Bill effectively polices the thoughts, beliefs, and political expressions of South Africans. Section 16 of the Constitution protects the right to "receive or impart information or ideas." Criminalizing support for a country in a conflict that is "not clear-cut" forces a state-sanctioned narrative upon the citizenry and punishes dissent. 2.2 Violation of Freedom of Association and Political Choice (Sections 18 & 19) The South African Constitution guarantees every citizen the right to freedom of association and the right to make free political choices. This Bill risks criminalizing lawful engagement—whether academic, religious, or commercial—with foreign nations based on an ideological determination by the state. This creates a "chilling effect" where citizens may fear prosecution for their personal or community affiliations. 2.3 Jurisdictional Overreach and Legal Uncertainty The extraterritorial nature of the Bill creates immense legal uncertainty. By attempting to regulate and punish actions or support related to foreign conflicts that are subjects of active international debate, South Africa risks overstepping its judicial bounds. This could lead to selective prosecution based on the prevailing political climate rather than settled international law. 2.4 Contravention of the Principle of Legality A fundamental principle of our law is that a crime must be clearly defined so that a citizen knows exactly what conduct is prohibited. Using the term "apartheid" in a broad, non-specific manner to cover various global conflicts makes the law "void for vagueness." This lacks the precision required for criminal statutes under the Rule of Law. 3. Conclusion and Recommendation The Bill, as proposed, functions more as a political instrument than a legal one. It threatens to transform South Africa into an ideological enforcer, violating the very freedoms of conscience and belief that our democratic transition sought to protect. I therefore recommend that: The Bill be withdrawn in its entirety; or The Bill be substantially redrafted to ensure it does not infringe upon the Bill of Rights, specifically ensuring it does not criminalize the peaceful expression of support for any sovereign state or political cause. I [do / do not] wish to make an oral submission should public hearings be held. Sincerely, [Your Signature/Name] |

2026-02-05 20:48:44 +02:00 | Beulah J | No I do not | Weaponising laws | This proposed Apartheid Bill risks turning South Africa’s laws into a tool for targeting people over foreign conflicts, mainly Israel-Palestine. It could prosecute anyone, including locals or dual citizens, for “supporting” what it calls apartheid acts abroad. Here’s why South Africa should drop it entirely, in plain terms: it picks revenge over rebuilding, which history shows leads to division, economic harm, and endless conflict. South Africa’s own post-apartheid success came from forgiveness via the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, not punishment hunts. Chasing vengeance now, influenced by specific groups like Al Jama-ah (an Islamic party with ANC ties), could reverse that and scare off investors, allies, and unity at home. Key Reasons to Avoid It 1. Breeds division and fear at home: The bill could label everyday South Africans—Jews, Christians, businesses, or tourists—with ties to Israel as criminals, sparking hate and lawsuits. This weaponizes human rights for one cause, ignoring others like abuses in Syria or China. It alienates communities, erodes trust in government, and fuels radicalism. With Islamic influence in the ANC pushing this, it risks making laws seem biased, not fair for all. 2. Hurts the economy and jobs: Prosecuting people for foreign links could scare away trade, tourism, and investment from Israel (tech, agriculture deals worth millions) and its allies like the US or EU. South Africa already struggles with unemployment over 30% and slow growth; this adds boycotts, sanctions risks, and legal chaos for companies. 3. Damages global standing: Extraterritorial laws like this make South Africa look like a revenge seeker, not a neutral peacemaker. It invites retaliation—other countries could prosecute South Africans for our own past or current issues. This isolates us diplomatically, weakening leverage on real problems like poverty or crime. 4. Ignores South Africa’s reconciliation lesson: Post-1994, we chose truth commissions over revenge trials, building a rainbow nation. This bill flips that, chasing grudges abroad while ignoring local fixes. It could reignite old wounds here, where apartheid scars still heal. Examples of Revenge Approaches Backfiring Countries that chose punishment over rebuilding often sank into chaos, poverty, or more war. Here’s proof: • Germany after World War I: The Treaty of Versailles imposed harsh reparations and blame on Germany as revenge for the war. This caused economic collapse, hyperinflation, and resentment that fueled Hitler’s rise and World War II, killing millions more. Instead of rebuilding together, revenge bred extremism. • Zimbabwe’s land seizures: In the 2000s, as “revenge” for colonial wrongs, the government grabbed white-owned farms without fair process. It wrecked agriculture (once Africa’s breadbasket), caused food shortages, hyperinflation over 89 sextillion percent, and mass unemployment. GDP plummeted, and recovery still lags—revenge ruined the economy for generations. • Iraq after Saddam Hussein: Post-2003 invasion, de-Baathification purged officials as revenge for past abuses, leading to sectarian fights. This vacuum helped ISIS rise, causing civil war, thousands dead, and instability that spread regionally. Revenge deepened divides instead of rebuilding institutions. • China-Japan tensions over WWII atrocities: Unresolved grudges from Japan’s Nanjing Massacre (300,000 killed) and occupation keep fueling boycotts, protests, and diplomatic freezes. China’s focus on historical revenge hampers trade deals and peace, costing billions in lost opportunities—endless anger blocks progress. • Yugoslavia’s breakup: After Tito’s death, ethnic groups sought revenge for old grievances, leading to 1990s wars with 140,000 dead, genocide in Bosnia, and fragmented states still poor and unstable today. No reconciliation meant no unity or growth. In contrast, Rwanda after the 1994 genocide used community courts for truth-telling, not mass revenge, helping rebuild a stable economy growing 8% yearly. South Africa can stick to that path—drop this bill to focus on jobs, unity, and real justice at home, not foreign vendettas. South Africa - please stop it. |
2026-02-05 19:28:54 +02:00 | Hermann | No I do not | Weaponising laws | Weaponising laws are becoming more frequint, as the America saga clearly shows. Once a law has been promolgated it is in the hands of officials to execute, with unforeseen consequinces, always detremental to the broader society. What started as a anti Jew campain in Germany led to the horrors of the second world war, the goalposts contantly being moved to suit the reigning power. |

2026-02-05 07:06:13 +02:00 | Gregory | No I do not | Weaponising laws | I stood against apartheid, but now the government , wants to take away my rights to stand with my convictions, that does not align with their political views and agenda . This same government actually has very strong apartheid laws that they enforce.they should think of addressing those. The law is called BBE. Certain ethnic groups in this country are disadvantaged by this self same government. So this government should apply the apartheid bill against it's self for being a apartheid state government. |
