Too much interference. The districts are overloaded with paperwork. That is why SGB is selected. What is the point if they cant approve anything. Surely they know better the financial situation of a school and the benefits of extra compensation than a district who has to sign off on loads of paperwork that they cant judge if a school can afford it or not.

The department of education should should prioritise school safety for learners and Teachers.
Building mist be safe and insect every year for building defaults. The appointment must be on merit and not because someone is the friend of the principal and sgb. , that teacher must be evaluate by dept officials. A survey must be done with teachers before any policy is implemented. The minister must be an educator for 10 years and more , and go through the ranks before being considered.

The Cape Independence Party - CAPEXIT opposes these new BELA Bill regulations in their entirety.

Once again the centralised ANC/DA South African government is trying to concentrate administrative power in the hands of the government, and in turn to weaken the power of provinces and local communities from controlling the education system for their own children.

This is text book communist policy to control the education system and to dumb down society so that instead of bringing up a new generation of self-sufficient citizens, they would rather indoctrinate the next generation with the ideology of entitlement, race hatred, laziness and reliance on the government to look after them with free social welfare benefits.

This type of brainwashing creates a population at war with one another, with an intellectual weakness to identify that the true enemy of rule of law, peace and prosperity in society is in fact the very government that creates the social, political and economic conditions for this corrupt and failing state.

CAPEXIT believes that education should be controlled by parents, local communities, and at the furthest stretch, the Province.

No one knows what is best for their children more than the very parents and local communities who have a direct investment and interest in the wellbeing and success of their children's education.

The corrupt, incompetent, race obsessed government is the last entity that should be making such important decisions on behalf of parents and children.

CAPEXIT opposes this BELA Act and calls for greater decentralisation, the reallocation of taxes and budget away from central government and back down to communities and schools, and the introduction of provincial referendums to allow the parents of the children of each province to determine what education policy best suits their own province and local municipalities.

S 38 payments must be approved only for duties not already included in the Job Description of teachers. Only duties in excess of the 1800 hours must be approved.

Excessive S38 payments make school fees unaffordable for working & middle class parents.

Please also look at the exemption formula as well .

To those who supported the DA — are you proud of this?

Today, many South Africans are left with a feeling that is difficult to put into words: betrayal.

For years, we were told that the DA represented accountability, better governance and a different future from the ANC. Yet when it comes to something as fundamental as our children's education, we are now watching decisions that leave teachers, parents, learners and School Governing Bodies feeling ignored, powerless and betrayed.

This isn't about party colours anymore. It's about our children.

It's about teachers who are already carrying an enormous burden.
It's about parents who are fighting to give their children a better future.
It's about SGBs and communities who have invested their time, energy and hearts into protecting their schools.
And most importantly, it's about the children who have no voice in these political battles.

What makes this so heartbreaking is that South Africans were promised something better.

If the DA was supposed to be different from the ANC, then why are ordinary South Africans once again being left asking the same question:

Who is actually standing up for our children?

The ANC has a long and painful record when it comes to the failures of our education system. But if the DA now chooses to follow the same path — or takes actions that cause even greater harm — then South Africans have every right to ask whether either party truly understands what is at stake.

Our children's education should never be a political bargaining chip.

Our teachers deserve better.
Our parents deserve better.
Our SGBs deserve better.
Our children deserve better.
And South Africa deserves better.

This isn't about hating the DA.
This isn't about loving the ANC.

This is about refusing to accept that political parties can disappoint an entire generation and simply expect us to remain silent.

South Africa's children are watching.

And history will remember who stood up for them — and who didn't.
