2026-01-22 22:57:30 +02:00 | Jan | No I do not | All of the above | This law is only meant to push political agendas and has no fairness to it. It also intrudes on privacy. Based on the same types of laws being passed and implemented in the UK it has already been shown that these types of laws has no purpose other than to silence free speech and push political agendas towards totaliarism. No law of this kind should ever be allowed in a democracy with free speech. |
2026-01-22 22:55:56 +02:00 | Emma | No I do not | All of the above | Sentencing by Emotion (The “Lottery”): Prosecutors are required to submit a Victim Impact Statement to the court to “aggravate” sentencing. This introduces a subjective standard where your punishment may be determined by the emotional resilience of the accuser rather than the facts of the crime. The “Hate” Database: The SAPS must record specific personal details of every accused person—including their political, religious, or social leanings—to build a national database of offenders. Social Media Surveillance: Specific police forms (Form 3) have been created to track the “distribution” of electronic communications, targeting those who forward or repost content. |
2026-01-22 22:50:50 +02:00 | Ilse | No I do not | All of the above | The requirement for a Victim Impact Statement to “aggravate” sentencing means your punishment could be determined by the emotional resilience of the accuser rather than the objective facts of the crime. Victim Impact Statement” to the court to aggravate sentencing. The Trap is in “Aggravation,” not “Guilt”. To find you guilty, the court should look at your intent not at the Victim Impact Statement. If the “severity” of the crime is measured by the victim’s feelings (via the VIS), you strictly argue that sentencing becomes a lottery. |

2026-01-22 22:43:17 +02:00 | Patricia | No I do not | All of the above | Too subjective -- oversensitive people might misunderstand what is being said to them with the best intentions in the world, and overreact. This also puts "freedom of speech" at risk, when it is the foundation of every functioning democracy. |

2026-01-22 22:40:01 +02:00 | Stefan | No I do not | All of the above | Since neither the POPI Act or right to privacy is not observed, these laws cannot be legal. They need to be more structured and defined, before sentencing is done, or fines given. The lawyers need to also step up with the legal ramifications, if this should fail. I am still a citizen, and I have rights. |
