And the attitude of the civil servant has is that we the tax payer is there servant while we are paying there salaries that is way above the private sector rates. |

We are forced to pay more for everything including municipal services that is " Non existent"! We do not have one single working street light in our street, residents have started installing their own solar lighting on the municipal lampposts to try and provide a "safer" environment around their houses. |

Therefore the municipal values are overstated and purposely done so to collect higher rates. Every successful business needs to be efficient and effective. This should apply to every government department and not just to the private sector that cannot willy nilly increase it's prices. The monopoly of municipalities kills all fair competition which would keep prices down, and effectiveness up. |

South Africans are already struggling with the rising costs of electricity, water, fuel, food and other basic necessities. Pensioners and ordinary working families simply cannot afford these continuous increases, especially when service delivery remains so poor. Municipalities must first address corruption, financial mismanagement, electricity theft, unnecessary expenditure and operational inefficiencies instead of constantly passing these costs on to paying residents. We deserve accountability, transparency, fair increases that are justified and affordable, and proper value for the money we already pay. Residents should not be expected to pay more for services that are not being delivered. |

A lot of people that don't want to work live happily in free houses . The value system is not fair. I paid 46 years Tax to our goverment But I just don't qualify for Sassa . How fair is this. I never earned enough to qualify for a house as well. Know on my retirement I need to look for help. But government don't care . The people making these decisions have no clue what life is all about.
