Again, I need to respond negatively. The rules and regulations current when I made provision for a retirement annuity was a legal contract between myself, the financial company and THE GOVERNMENT. My whole provision was made in adherence to all legal matters based on commitment and trust. The ANC Communist Government have more than demonstrated that it simply cannot be trusted due their incompetent actions and behaviour over the last 25-26 years. They have not changed their attitude since 1995 and I do not expect them to change now. therefore my answer is no!

If our government isn't motivated to help those people that are able to create jobs and work here to make a living here, most will leave and our economy will keep taking knocks. Surely there should be other alternatives than taking money from those that have saved for retirement. Why would our younger generation then start or continue to pay towards retirement plans??If our government isn't motivated to help those people that are able to create jobs and work here to make a living here, most will leave and our economy will keep taking knocks. Don't mess with something that isn't broken. Government must getting their thieving little paws off of our hard earned money. We wouldn't mind paying tax if they used it properly.

The Government has proved to be incompetent at appointing the correct Executives in critical positions of handling South African funds - we do not support this wasteful method of handling money. Most South Africans have lost confidence in their ability to make informed management decisions or control money. Prime example is the flagrant disregard for the Zondo Commission. Flagrant disregard for law enforcement, flagrant disregard for small businesses, flagrant disregard for infrastructure, flagrant disregard for freedom of speech, no Government paid for our education, business building, no-hand-outs, we did everything ourselves. We had a respected airline until ANC came into power, Eskom - no rolling black outs until ANC came into power, Denel was productive - now defunct. Respect for others has dissipated. Time for massive change in this country. There is no more to be said.

Additional taxation of retirement annuity funds ultimately affects the 'pensioner'. Costs levied will be passed on to the people who are attempting to save for their old age. Surely the government want less people to be dependant on hand outs.

If we look at the draft bill regarding the Financial Sector, again the taxation imposed will once again be passed down to the consumer further impoverishing the man in the street. No-where does it state how these funds are to be used, how they will be overseen to ensure that taxation collected is used to prevent problems within the financial sector. We need to address what happened to VBS properly. How did it happen or how was it allowed to happen.

The government is simply increasing taxation in every possible way but not holding anyone accountable for the additional funds gathered.

I believe this will harm the country in the long run as people will simply move their funds off-shore in whatever means they can.

The government seems to be looking for even more money to waste on control, whereas it is exactly all these financial controls and taxes that is crippling the economy to death.

This government needs to sort out the current leaks in our expense budget, this is not a solution to bad spending habits, I refuse to remain implicit in enabling this incompetent government until we are taken seriously as citizens and we are delivered the leadership we are entitled to.
