The amendment of section 3 and section 12. If I understand correctly, section 3 under the revision would allow ministers to scratch exemptions at will, and section 12 allows for the minister to transfer their duty to manage financial decisions to any other minister. If this is indeed the case, and given the overtly corrupt nature of our government, I disagree with these amendments.

I do however think that international organizations should be subject to at least the same, if not more stringent registration requirements, due to crime that is sometimes committed through those vehicles, however, I am concerned that this may affect the inflow of much needed funding for local NGO's from international foundations and the like. I have already seen some international organizations excluding South Africa from their beneficiary lists.

Governmant shoul make sure that all ective NPOs get appropiate funding first and then they can speak of ammending that bill.

Should be the minimum funding amount atleast not less than R500 000 per annum then theya can force that NPO to be tranparent and all that stuff.

People become members, donate, to provide for themselves with income that has already been taxed.

That ends the goverments roll.

The rest is an arbitrary - unilateral power grab.

I believe it will ensure all NGO’s are registered, measured and supported.
Yes, I do understand both government and some NGO’s do require close management, but overall a registered will be an efficient way of monitoring and possibly improving the overall support for those in need

'' 'financial year', in relation to the [Directorate] Office of the Registrar
of nonprofit organisations, means ''a period which commences on 1
April and ends on 31 March in the following year;'';

If NPO's are to be forced into a specific financial year this should surely align with the national tax year norm.

To many NPO's are not operating in accordance to the current act. The Dept. of Social Services, as with most government agencies, is under skilled and will have to be transformed, to handle any further controls.

I have a concern that NPO's are sometimes being used to launder money, in the name of doing "so called good" Such as Bill Gates and Sorros. Criminals.

Why don't you clean your own house firsrt. This smells of another attempt to make the government even larger. You are no longer serving the people, you are only policing us and stealing from us.

I'm part of a non profit organization and I don't even know where to start commenting especially with dismal fail to get assistance from DSD for starters .
I've been to the department of agriculture as well to get assistance as our npo is related to agri-development to no avail. Let alone the DALRRD with their empty promises we spend our money and data to fill those multiple forms to no avail , knowing they won't even consider your application , they just wait for the closing date to send you their so called " application not successful letter"
There is no way that not even a single person in my agriculture social media got a positive response if they really look at those applications.
We are trying to make an impact in our communities but the very same people that needs to support us chose to fail us.
