South Africa’s history has taught us the devastating consequences of dividing people based on race, yet we are now perpetuating the very injustices we sought to eliminate. Section 9(2) of the Constitution, as it is currently interpreted, creates a dangerous precedent where some individuals are deemed “more equal” than others, echoing the absurdity of Animal Farm. Instead of fostering unity and true equality, it has allowed for policies that mirror the racial biases of apartheid, just with different beneficiaries. True equality cannot be achieved by treating people differently based on race. Decisions must be made on merit, character, and circumstance—not blanket assumptions tied to skin color. By eliminating race-based policies, we can build a society that genuinely reflects the principle that every individual is equal before the law. It’s time to learn from our past and break this cycle of discrimination. Let’s ensure that South Africa's future is built on fairness, justice, and equality for all. |

No discrimination can be fair. Perhaps the focus shouldn't be on punishing those those whom achieve something or own property. No society can ever be uplifted by discrimination in their favour if there is no ambition to work hard, study, create businesses, build generational wealth. Politics doesn't have a heart or soul just a quest for power. If every individual understands their worth and actively contributes e.g. by paying their ESKOM bill, not throwing their rubbish down where they are , growing a home vegetable patch and irchard etc a drastic change will occur. |
