Ten new open cast coal mines? This will be DIISASTER for Limpopo and is nothing more than looting of our country. Since BBBEEE all Chinese are classed as "Black" and they will bring THEIR citizens here so no jobs will be available for the locals!

China cares nothing for wild but fragile conservation areas. This is pure colonialism with the real beneficiaries being the same ones who looted all our State Owned Enterprises. All part of their glorious plan to benefit those from "the Struggle".
Ramaphosa will be remembered for being President of a nation of shack dwellers whose children died of malnutrition.
Conservation of the environment doesn't pay for the ANC's elites: it is the new APARTHEID don't you know!

Environmental degradation, loss of biodiversity and pollution are the main concerns. Biodiversity of this era is not only linked to the Vhembe district, but various tribal groups in and around Limpopo. Furthermore, the biodiversity and landscape of the Vhembe district is strongly interlinked with the tribal histories and cultures of that era. It is linked to the history of indigenous South Africans. This cannot be haphazardly wiped out in favour of foreign economic endeavours.

Only one p[arty will benefit from this enterprise: China. It is a short-sighted , highly destructive undertaking that will destroy rather than create.

Giving China so much power in a South African industry is a major threat to our sovereignty and natural resources. This project would cause a major blow to the natural beauty of the Limpopo province, as well as the water and wildlife. This project should not be allowed to continue.

Look at the facts. Firstly, there is not enough water. Secondly, this development would cause irreversible biodiversity loss. Thirdly, the socioeconomic impact on that whole area would be devastating in the long run. This is absolutely not a sustainable development. Rather focus on developing the area as an ecotourism hub, which will last for generations to come and empower the locals. Mines only enrich a select few and leave behind a devastating environmental impact.

Far too much of our critical biodiversity has already been sacrificed to mining in this country which too often has benefitted the few (and often foreign) investors (which will again be the case here), not locals. This is a much too high a price to pay. Alternative sources of energy must be pursued... The use of fossil fuels must be dramatically reduced.

We already had Zuma selling out our resources to the Gupta's, the State enriching individuals linked to it by paying more on tenders than they're worth. On the one hand our government says it wants to industrialise then hand over large tracts of our country to foreigners who are already known to not care about their host countries' laws, ecology or citizens. This is economical terrorism if allowed to take place and whoever allows it must be held severely accountable.
