Willem | Yes I do | other | This will hopefully stop some of the illegal activities and scams |
David | No I do not | Declaration of crypto assets as a financial product (2) | I feel strongly that the FSCA is out of its depth and does not fully understand the crypto assets as an alternative investment , for healthy diversification a portfolio of assets. This type of regulation, as proposed again by Treasury, will have very negative and unintended consequences. One unintended consequence may in fact be, yet again, forcing entrepreneural South African business owners to opperate very good and upright businesses from offshore. Those regulators are more able andseem to be looking for win/win solutions, not simply shutting down/constricting an industry for the sake of the lowest common denominator (such as I feel SARS approach has been to Section 12J of the Income Tax Act, where they make knee-jerk type decisions that negatively have affected the upright and entrepreneural smaller VCCs). |
Lionel | No I do not | Declaration of crypto assets as a financial product (2) | I simply do not trust the government at all. Everything they do is to financially benefit themselves and the big corporations only. They do not care about the citizens of this country as is clearly shown by the lockdowns which is crippling our economy and killing our lively hood. Also the South African Reserve bank which is suppose to be owned by the people of the country now has private owners. people need to wake up to the fact that we are being robbed on a big scale by government. They print fiat currency out of thin air (meaning that it is not based on the gold standard) and we as the people of this country must then work for it . pay taxes and interest on this fiat currencies. Fiat currencies are not money. Real money is based on the gold standard. |
Daniel | No I do not | other | Another attempt to further regulate an already totalitarian oriented government, that will be impacting negatively on an already declining economy. |
Gert | Not fully | Declaration of crypto assets as a financial product (2) | The entire reason behind crypto currencies is that it is not taken through the same system as fiat currency or other payment methods. The regulation already is taken care of on the blockchain. Brokers that want to trade in crypto can be regulated so not to mislead investors, but there is where any regulation should stop. |
Aletta | Yes I do | Declaration of crypto assets as a financial product (2) | Angelo Agrizzi and some government officials use this to launder looted funds if regulators regulate it it they will pick up on funds being shifted offshore |
Joe | No I do not | Declaration of crypto assets as a financial product (2) | The purpose of Crypto was to decentralize. It's got nothing to do with any specific country or government. Its international and online. Government must focus on getting it's house in order with billions stolen in corruption from within. Get that fixed and prove yourselves. Get the country back on track economically. Then you can look at things like this. The saying in the bible comes to mind. Remove the plank from your own eye so you can see to remove the speck from your brothers eye. Government has some huge planks to remove.... |

Gordon | No I do not | Declaration of crypto assets as a financial product (2) | Regulating crypto assets as financial product, but at the same time preventing them from functioning nationally as a financial product - is entrapment. It would be comparable to saying that the South African Rand is a currency, but not permitting individuals or organisations to use South African Rands to buy goods and services. If the current regime wish to regulate crypto assets, they must also permit cryptos to be a suitable means of exchange for purchasing goods and services. |
Glenn | No I do not | Declaration of crypto assets as a financial product (2) | |
Werner | No I do not | Declaration of crypto assets as a financial product (2) | Crypto currency is and will never be a financial product. |
Mary | No I do not | Declaration of crypto assets as a financial product (2) | We are already over taxed so no to this regulation. Just another means ig robbing people |
alison | No I do not | other | yet another way for the powers that be to skim off the top |
Bonita | No I do not | Declaration of crypto assets as a financial product (2) | This just gives another opportunity for the ANC government to steal money. Corruption is at the heart of the ANC government and this will just be too tempting, in no time the money will be stolen. |
Morne | No I do not | other | South Africa has no need to regulate crypto currencies - this is clearly just another attempt by the ANC criminals in government to create more opportunities for their stealing and corruption. |
Tobie | No I do not | Declaration of crypto assets as a financial product (2) | None of the current crypto currencies has any links to South Africa. We take all the risk of investing in them, government takes no risk. If these currencies fail or dissappear you will carry no responsibility. Again another lazy money making scheme for government. |
Ryan | No I do not | Declaration of crypto assets as a financial product (2) | I do not believe the government is competent enough in the domain space of blockchain & crypto to begin encroaching on it |
Johann | No I do not | other | Crypto assets has got nothing to do with any government and therefore should not ever be regulated. |
