In my opinion, until the mismanagement of financial resources are rectified and responsible leaders are placed in key leadership positions to manage the ELM effectively and efficiently . This is applicable to all tariffs (water, sewage, electricity, rates, property taxes) .
Salary increases should be adjusted by CPI% only. Bulk purchases should be retained at 38% as previous year, while debt impairment should be retained at 21% as per previous year.

Too much in such difficult times. Cannot afford it.

Service delivery is non existent in the Vaal triangle. Refuse removal has been reduced by 50% and only happens twice a month if you are lucky. During lockdown there was minimal if any support to maintain the infrastructure.
There is limited electrical systems, sewerage, road, etc. maintenance. Corruption is rife and we end up doing everything ourselves to make the areas inhabitable. The rates should be reduced by 75% if you want to be fair.

We are not working so no tariff hike, paraffin expensive
Cost of living is too high and expensive so I cannot suggest how much because some of us are living from hand to mouth

We are already paying for services that we are not receiving, so what is the reason I should have to pay even more? And now there is some nonsense about adding extra charges on pre-paid electricity users? Have these people totally lost their minds? Also, I do not see any reason why any of the municipal officials should get an increase in salary - they are already far overpaid. Perhaps if they did something that can be considered as work for which they have earned a salary, one could reconsider, but we all know that is not the case.
Anything that will increase the exorbitant tariffs we are already paying will not have my support. I expect to see budget cuts, salary decreases and streamlining of systems. I want to see plans for finding ways of increasing the efficiency of services delivered, business plans for turning around the business structures into which the council is squandering money with no ROIs. THAT is what should be happening, not ridiculous increases in tariff and unsolicited fees on things that go beyond the absurd!

Every body is cash strapped, people that still have a job had to take salary cuts, job retrenchments are all over, people are sick... Since there is very poor to no service delivery , why should we have to pay more without even receiving the basics? The roads are full f potholes, pipes are bursting everywhere. sewer is bubbling out everywhere , the river is polluted, there are only some trucks that can do some waste removal sometimes, nobody answers a telephone to report any faults, no street lights working ..etc. NO to any further increases.
