I'm a pensioner receiving R2100 every month and white people still remain very rich and increase will never affect them at all. As a black person I don't see democracy just suffering over and over again and it's not fair. We try to pay what's due but enough is enough. I'm not the only person experiencing this very high rise in electricity. |

Big compancies, government, municipalities etc that have not paid electricity for years, continue to receive electricity. As a household if you do not pay the full amount each month your electricity is immediately after due date cut. Then you have to pay a reconnection fee. My question is households with owes R1500 eg, more a priority than companies and institutions who owes millions of rands. This scenario is totally wrong. Before Eskom and NERSA sort out the illegal electricity matter a moratorium should be placed on tariff increases. This is a serious matter and the people staying in rural towns is hit the hardest since no job opportunities is available of in some instances minimum wages. Then an performance audit should be done om all the employees at Eskom. Do we really need so many employees. You wait sometimes with a query for more than an hour to talk to an operator, just to be cut off and start all over again. The website is not working and Alfred is limited with assistance. AI is the wayforward for Eskom to address queries etc. |

From a world class company, with reasonable tariffs, Eskom has become an inefficient electricity supplier, mismanaged by incompetency and corruption; hardly intelligent. Our salaries are not increasing so in proportion to that how are we to afford such a big increase?! Stop sending our coal at such cheap prices to our neighboring countries and instead provide us with electricity at reasonable prices! |

We are pensioners and can't afford it now, and with an increase we won't be able to buy what we need in electricity!! They are in this mess because of miss management and corruption, now they want to punish the consumer!! What of the really poor people of this country!!! They must cut the enormous salary's they are getting and plow that money back into Eskom!!!!! |

Daar is geen manier wat ons soveel ekstra per maand kan betaal aan Eskom nie. Ons betaal alreeds deur ons nekke wat belasting en stygende lewensonkostes aanbetref. Daar is geen manier dat die middel en laer inkomsteklas hierdie styging sal kan bekostig nie. Weereens gaan armoede nog toeneem, wat dink Nersa en Eskom gaan van ons word wat dit nie kan bekostig nie????!!!! |
