It's ridicules' I do not have the money.
If I have to cut back so can they. No increases in wages or salaries. Let them feel what its like to work for private companies.

The country is in trouble and the effect of Covid-19 massive, leading to the closer of a number of critical business, increasing unemployment and reducing income from.tne ordinary people and residents. We cannot ignore all of these and pretend that everyone is awash with funds when we are all experiencing these challenges. Local government like national government must start implementing austerity measures like a freeze to salary or wage increase as they have bloated employment structure that strains their fiscus and wage bill. Efficiency gains must include reducing the fat in its capacity and get rid of excess and underutilised staff! The quality of service is appalling and woeful with a number of clueless personnel. They have to tighten the belt and work strictly within their existing budget baseline until the economy is able to be revived and create more business and therefore more employment to ease the effect of money less residents. No increase and the Metro and local government has to make do with what it currently have and refrain in passing on the cost of their extravagant management and vanity projects to the residents! It is insensitive and thoughtless to do so.

Since they are using covd19 money why do they want to increase. Where is the money recent donated.

My increase for the next year will be ZERO %. I will just have to make do. We cannot afford electricity prices to go up - double digit figures. Nothing more than CPI will be acceptable. We also cannot pay an extra R200 or R400 per month capacitation charge.... for prepaid. Prepaid is so expensive as it is. We hardly get any units for a R1000 spend anymore. I used to spend R1000 per month on prepaid - now I pay over R3000 - thats 300% increase in 10 years - this is not sustainable. Why have electricity prices gone up so much? It smacks of mismanagement. Is it a consequence of discriminatory BEE employment and procurement legislation, combined with pervasive corruption that has become so prevalent under ANC rule. You have to stop this now. It cannot go on - these massive price increases each year to pay for the mismanagement, the consequences of BEE, the wasteful expenditure, the tender frauds. Convert every household to prepaid to eliminate the problem of non payment, another reason why you are putting up your electricity prices for those who pay... because so many have illegal connections or dont pay, or the municipalities loot the money paid for electricity. Enough is enough....stop this now.
My increase for the next year will be zero % - we cannot afford the double digit increases. Nothing above CPI is acceptable. Do not charge us for Eskoms or the municipalities mis management.

Where to begin?
The Corruption? THe Mismanagement of funds? The lack of qualified leadership? The nepotism?
At any rate, how can budgets be increased more than the national inflation rate (the cpi -consumer price index) every year.
Where are citizens supposed to get the extra money to pay these increases from?
Maybe if you tried sorting out the unemployment rate first, you might have enough taxes coming in so that you would not have to try to keep squeezing blood out of a stone every year.
We are struggling and it is getting harder and harder to survive every year. (Apparently not if you are in Government though)
Did you forget that it is actually YOU who are supposed to be serving us, the people?
Or maybe, just maybe if government and municipalities would curb their greed, mismanagement and corruption a little better, there actually would be enough money to go around and provide basic services without having to milk the citizen at the end of the food chain dry every time someone decides to help themself to money that was actually supposed to go back into the country (as opposed to into the back of someone's own private pocket)
But no, instead of managing budgets properly, municipalities and government expect citizens to pay (with money thy ar supposed to get out of thin air)
In short, my answer is this.
No!
No more increases.
Don't make your problems, ours, because of your own lack of decency and corruption.
Not until you can start leading by example.
Why should we have to be expected to pay for your ivory towers, greed and corruption, while our own families are starving?
You have to be joking, right?
It's actually pretty disgusting that your not.

Everybody are already struggling to make ends meet whilst the Municipalities and Government are wasting funds on unnecessary expenses. Our infrastructure is not maintained and all services are deteriorating, whilst we are expected to pay more.
A National program was already implemented to address Covid matters.

You cannot tax a country into prosperity. Read that again.

If you are already unable to manage a budget, receiving more money won't help.

If you are already robbing us blind, why should we give you more money.

We're already battling to support the gravy train - we don't have anymore money to give.

No tariff increase should be double digits. This is not in line with inflation. Water, in particular. Refuse should be separated at source to reduce waste. The electricity rate increase is misleading because of winter tariffs. My prepaid elecricity has gone up 12 percent from June to July. Home heating costs for work from home, the new normal, are high.
Government should change and phase out its locomotive allowances to executives and officials. PAs getting 8k a month to work from home while the luxury car paid for by ratepayers sits idle in the garage. Adopt work from home policy and cut building overheads. Sell them off or generate income from them. Tax burdens should not be knee jerk imposed on residents without government making concessions itself or even thinking out the box.

I disagree with electricity increases because I don't see why citizens should pay for anc incompetence. Let public servants do the jobs they are getting paid for and collect outstanding monies due, then there will be no need for increases. Don't cause sa citizens revolt against paying taxes until we replace the anc with a better government

Way must I pay for some else's water and electricity? Then they ask for an increase. They can't manage the water and electricity bill. Cut off all the illegal connections and our bill will actually decrease.

For the past 10 years it's a constant fight with our CCC office to maintain service delivery. Our trees have not been trimmed - always get.tpld "there is no money" weeds and grass growing thru the tar roads. They get in contactors that have no clue. We as a community stopped the tarring. The idiots were tarring over the weeds and grass. Have you ever heard of that. Roads signs are non existent. Streets signs are stolen. Our infrastructure is collapsing. They only repair if there is a problem. Our suburb sits with hundreds of street lights out. Since lockdown our crime has increased ten fold . Our once operational police station has decreased, now poorly run. Police station has been closed a number of times due to covid19. The municipalities NEVER delivered services during April and May. I've requested that they credit us. .no work no pay. Why must they be treated any differently. Municipalities are grossly over staffed doing sweet nothing except sitting on their cellphones while we as customers wait. Do they forget who pays their exhortant salaries???? Got to stop now!!!!!!!
