I do NOT agree with any kind of fee. What I do strongly feel is that there should be a quota on the number of animals particularly in terms of the size of free-roaming yard. I am strongly in favour of mandatory sterilisation of pets and street animals as this will curb the abuse and neglect. I am also very strongly against the chaining up and locking in confined spaces any animal where they will get frustrated, scared and most likely hurt themselves or become unpredictable and possibly dangerous when let free. I am in favour of service animals being separately registered and annual mandatory vet visits should be enforced. |

Why not create fines for people who don’t look after their animals? Now everybody (including people who look better after their pets than some after their children) must pay and be limited. I do not want it to go to city coffees to be squandered on human related matters. There's enough of the that nonsense and it s associated corruption. |

I would say if the temps are higher than 25 degrees they should not be out working. Especially at midday. Who are they to tell us how many pets we are allowed? If one is in a position to have and look after more than the average listed, then I say all is good, provided.... the dogs are trained and the cats trained not to wonder (yes that is possible) why do we need permits? are they that hard up for money? Put the money back that went missing.... we all know municipalities are all corrupt and steal. As for searching premises without a warrant.... I think that fully depends on the circumstances, especially when there is animal abuse reports. | |

Cape Town has lost the plot entirely - this will not help alleviate "animal suffering" - it will grow yet another level of misdirected municipal control. Interesting fact - the "old Transvaal" had pet and bicycle licencing in the apaartheid government. Welcome back, DA. |
