Hundreds of supporters for an Independent Cape marched on 05 December 2020 from Cloetesville onto Stellenbosch to hand over a memorandum to the DA (Democratic Alliance) mayor calling on the local government to recognize their right to a referendum on independence for the Cape province to secede from South Africa.
