The government is crippling its own people due to their inability to manage an entity that was voted best energy supplier in the world in 2001. It is not the responsibility of the public to foot the bill for mismanagement by government. I strongly oppose this absurdity.

Why must I pay for Goverment blunders when they are still allowed to keep their positions. Sorry but running a country is the same as running your own business - if you fail, your company closes and you are unemployed, so why are these people still employed? Government must fit the 76 billion, not the man in the street

South African public is sick and tired of paying the price for incompetence on the part of government entities.
Privatisation into willing and able hands may be what is necessary,, those in charge now definitely have it too easy,, they can just recoup their incompetent mess ups from the public even time.

SA consumers are already battling to afford basic living costs. As a government employee, my salary increase of 3% can't keep up with rental, electricity and medical aid increases of 10%.

We cannot continue to pay for incompetence. Enough money has been stolen and nobody as been held accountable till this day and the government can start getting the looters in orange overalls and confiscate all their ill gotten riches to pay for this blunder.

Affordability for most average people. I am about to retire this year and will certainly not be able to afford higher electric bills. In fact most average families are already suffering now.

It is time everyone stops just talking about the problem and start actually doing something. Everyone needs to stand together and just outright refuse to submit to this ongoing corruption....this includes not giving a cent to Eskom. All that will happen with the money is that the so called CEO and top staff will get bigger bonuses. The ANC must go.

So monthly when we pay our exhorbitant electricity bills, where does the money go to? Why is it not being used for maintaining the infrastructure. You keep putting up the tarriffs and we have to keep paying. I will not pay for this blunder, this government must pay for their own F ups... If we made the mistake, we would have to pay for it.
Also don't you have insurance against things like this??????????????????
