2026-01-20 06:00:47 +02:00 | Karin | No I do not | Home schooling | Curriculum and extracurricular choices | Every Parent who gave life to a child born into their family should have the right to choose their children's upbringing, their faith foundations and values, their education, their guidance, their extra murals. As a parent nurtures their children they learn what they enjoy and excel in those areas and parents can encourage them to accomplish their dreams and succeed in schools, universities and in life. President Nelson Mandela knew the importance of our children's futures and encouraged good education . Boxing kids in and dictating their up bringing is a criminal offense. How can a teacher or government know what is best for your child? The time a parent spends with their children from birth to adulthood is longer than the time spent at a school under the supervision of teacher. Immunisation should be a choice (the variants change at a rapid rate and aren't efficient in many cases, it prevents our immune systems to not function the way it should be building it's own immunity against all diseases......take for instance Malaria only visitors to that area needs to use Malaria medication due to the fact that they aren't exposed to Malaria over a long period of time. Those that live in that area, their immune systems have been able to build an immunity up against the Malaria. So why are we pushing vaccination and Who is benefitting from it. Teachers should also not be allowed to dictate to a parent to get their children labelled as an ADD or ADHD case when their diets are lacking Essential Fatty Acids and good wholesome foods.. a predominantly plant based foods. Admissions to schools should be regulated to areas where people live, to reduce living costs to a minimum, in a case we're parents would like their children to be enrolled to improve their lifestyles and send them to Other Schools should be considered and is their choice to increase their living costs, but preferences should be given to people in their neighbourhoods, it will avoid traffic congestions.. |
2026-01-19 00:37:23 +02:00 | Nhlanhla | Not fully | Admission of non-SA citizens | Calculating classroom size | South African citizens should be given priority first, when the selection and zoning process take place. Non South Africans should pay for education received annual, provided that they have all the requirements needed for being in the country. |

2026-01-11 15:56:42 +02:00 | Claudette | No I do not | Admission of non-SA citizens | Number of teachers and class size | South African schools are unable to absorb the pressure of illegal foreigners crowding our schools. Teachers are under pressure because the classrooms CANNOT accomodate 40 to 60 children per class. Priority admissions should be for South Africans, SA schools for South African children , not the other way around. South African children are rejected by schools in the areas where they live because it has become the norm for schools to accomodate the children of illegal foreigners first. This has to stop. Enough is enough ! |
2026-01-07 11:08:53 +02:00 | Sally | Yes I do | Refusal of learner admission | Number of teachers and class size | Government MUST continually track & predict capacity needs for each metro The long term aim must be a maximum of 25 children per class. ESPECIALLY in foundation phase. This will unfortunately have to continue to be relaxed initially New Teachers must be immediately placed when graduate. They should not have to wait a year for their registration before their appointment. Their job can be subject to registration within a reasonable period of time Make Enough positions available for ALL new Teachers, even if only with a small stipend. If positions are not being filled in certain areas, salaries & support in those areas must be increased. Use retired teachers, offer them reduced workloads and hours Follow the method used by medical professionals - a year of social service where needed. Taxes supplement university fees. Like a bursary it is reasonable to expect them to work where needed for a period of time Create 'work and travel' programs for SA & Foreign teachers to experience living & teaching in our beautiful rural areas Actively make sure that new teachers are trained for the right disciplines. If there are too many economics teachers, train less economics teachers NEVER change children from home language to English after foundation phase. Studies show both their learning & English will be better if they learn in their home language - entire primary education should either be in one language or bilingual - done well in Afrikaans schools When giving birth & at baby clinics parents educate parents & give resources (online & DIY) to expose kids to books & maths. Encourage volunteers to tutor. The power of 1 on 1 & small group attention is proven. Share the percentage of children vaccinated at a school so parents can decide if the health risk is too great at a school. |
2026-01-06 16:44:58 +02:00 | Matodzi | No I do not | Admission of non-SA citizens | Objectives | It is not the HoD or school bussiness to help a non-SA to acquire documents for their children. I feel that this act is promoting illegal foreigners to continue breaking the law by accommodating them. Our schools are struggling with expenses and debts due to non-payments of fees cause most of our children and illegal immigrants are not paying yet expecting all services. We are already struggling as a country and now we are adding with illegal immigrants that we can't even prove they are working or not. |
2026-01-06 15:42:22 +02:00 | Bertha | No I do not | Admission of non-SA citizens | Number of teachers and class size | By admitting non SA learners, we will be comprising our learners quality of learning as there is no enough teachers budgets and also numbers of classrooms are not enough. Tax payers money will be helping helping children from foreign countries as well where as are own sare struggling. |

2026-01-06 07:29:44 +02:00 | Ester | No I do not | Proof of immunisation | Other | Vaccination is not compulsory by law in South Africa, therefore I object to regulation 14(7) of the draft admission of learners to public schools regulations which permits refusal of admission where neither proof of immunisation nor proof of exemption is provided. Making this law will lead to indirect medical coercion and discriminates against those parents who lawfully choose alternatice medical pathways. We, the parents, have a right to informed consent and refusal of vaccines in the best intrest of our children. |
2026-01-06 00:22:16 +02:00 | Rebekka | No I do not | Proof of immunisation | Number of teachers and class size | So far, the draft regulations are not matching up to what we were told the purpose of the amendments to BELA meant. There are many aspects to admissions and capacity regulations that were brought up in the public hearings by citizens, only to be shut down by both houses of parliament, who deemed the concerns of no consequence because "those matters do not appear in the amendments". Ironically, those very matters are once again being brought up here for the regulations, after Parliament opined that they were not relevant. Many people warned that this situation would be a logical conclusion. I don't believe any parliamentary member is so obtuse, so it must be deliberate, or due to laziness. These matters have been a source of concern to parents for the last 12 years and we keep raising the matters, only to be shut down. All we have left to do is go to court over it if this round of public participation via comments is once again going to be ignored. |
2026-01-05 22:27:11 +02:00 | Abie | No I do not | Proof of immunisation | Objectives | I cannot help but feel that this is government bullying parents into submission. It leaves open the the door for political meddling at a local level - this type of intervention ends badly and then the children and broader community typically pay the price. |
2026-01-05 22:26:26 +02:00 | Louise | No I do not | Proof of immunisation | Number of teachers and class size | Immunization is not compulsory in SA and as such it is not fair to exclude learners that are not immunised for whatever reason, from access to schools. All citizens and their children have a right to informed consent, and refusal of vaccines etc,. I strongly believe that all learners should have access to any school of their choice, |
2026-01-05 16:16:54 +02:00 | Leanne | No I do not | Proof of immunisation | Other | Education and health care need to be kept separate and the parent needs to be the decision maker concerning his/her child's immunisation. There are many, many children who have had a life changing reaction to vaccination, and others to medicine in general and it is the parents who love, care for and provide for the children and not the state. |
