### SCRAP THE RED TAPE! Should Independent Power Producers be allowed to immediately supply South Africa with electricity?

The presidency and Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan are looking for emergency
solutions to end the load shedding crisis. This comes as several parties and groups
outside the government put forward emergency plans. An emergency plan could suspend
the IRP and expand private energy production massively.

    - Is there a need to immediately amend legislation?
    - What is best suited – renewables, coal, nuclear, hydro, imports or other forms
      of generation?
