Gehalte van dienslewering laat veel te wense oor!! Kwaliteit van water is 'n skande. Gereelde kragonderbrekings a.g.v. hopelose instandhouding. Ongekwalifiseerde vakmanskap.

They are incompetent fools and crooks. The town is falling to pieces and they are feathering their nests and farting around.

Excessive electricity bills. We need to pay a private contractor to deliver water, remove our rubble, cut grass on the pavements. Volunteers are cleaning the main streets but there is no follow through from the municipality. People dump their trash right under the board that state there will be a fine for illegal dumping. It is now six months since the dumping is there with no follow up. The legal dumping site is a nightmare. Not only for residents to go there, the employees but also for the poor people that goes there to look for some source of income. What happened to all the promises?

 |

This is still platteland and near the bush. And all the new developments that creates more jobs.

Communication from all parties and agreed and followthrough of decisions.

This municipality gives slightly better service delivery. However, the DA ( so called white skinned) that are running the municipality are TOO RACIST and think that white skinned people are superior to other color skins. What steenhuizen and jp smith and their click forget is that the outer skins are just that, skins. They all will die one day as will everyone else and their bodies will stink and rot just like all of the peoples.
Only stupid, foolish, idiotic people think nonsense. They hatred of the Palestinians is so blatant that it is sickening. They want people in their party to 'toe the line' of their blind support of the zionists. They are hypocrites. steebnhauzen goes to zelensky in ukraine to suck up to him because he is jew. Yet he does not allow his party memebr to speak what is his right to say. It had nothing to do with politics. It was a humanistic support he expressed. Yet there mad zino supporters of the DA demand that many votes in parliament should be in secret and what their conscious demands. How low can one go to lie, cheat and be hypocritical?

ALL MANKIND ARE SIMILAR
Al-Qur’an: chapter 49 Verse 13: “O mankind! We (i.e. Allāh) created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise (each other). Verily the most honoured of you in the sight of Allāh is (he who is) the most righteous of you. And Allāh has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things.)” Mankind was one nation and over the ages through migration we became different nations. Yet we are the same and we share the same earth, and needs and feelings etc.Al-Qur’an: Chapter 10 Verse 19: “Mankind was but one nation, but differed (later). Had it not been for a word that went forth before from Thy Lord, their differences would have been settled between them.”Al-Qur’an: Chapter 2 Verse 213: “Mankind was one single nation, and Allāh sent Messengers with glad tidings and warnings; and with them He (i.e. Allāh) sent the Book in truth, to judge between people in matters wherein they differed; but the People of the Book, after the clear Messages came to them, did not differ among themselves, except through selfish contumacy. Allāh by His Grace Guided the believers to the Truth, concerning that wherein they differed. For Allāh guided whom He (i.e. Allāh) will to a path that is straight.” (Cf: chapter 2 verse 272; chapter 19 verse 76; chapter 28 verse 56; chapter 58 verse 22; chapter 16 verses 104-105)DO NOT THINK OF BEING BETTER THAN OTHERS: Al-Qur’an: chapter 49 Verse 11: “O ye who believe! Let not some men among you laugh at others: it may be that the (latter) are better than the (former): nor let some women laugh at others: It may be that the (latter are better than the (former): nor defame nor be sarcastic to each other, nor call each other by (offensive) nicknames: Ill-seeming is a name connoting wickedness, (to be used of one) after one has believed: And those who do not desist are (indeed) doing wrong.”STAND OUT FOR TRUTH AND JUSTICE EVEN IF IT IS AGAINST YOUR OWN SELF:Al-Qur’an: Chapter 4 verse 135: “O ye who believe in Allāh! Stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to Allâh, even as against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin, and whether it be (against) rich or poor: for Allāh can best protect both. Follow not the lusts (of your hearts), lest ye swerve, and if ye distort (justice) or decline to do justice, Verily Allāh is well- acquainted with all that ye do.”

My disappointment is at Town Planning level. Over the past 10 years the Town of Grabouw has been subject to dismal planning decisions. A once beautiful, quiet town has had it identity destroyed and its surrounding area scarred by planners who do not think long term and do not follow through on their actions.
Their actions has been consistantly pushing rate payers out of the town by allowing a rapidly increasing number of unemployable people to annex the surrounding area. A wave of Crime and Garbage has brought this town to its knees. Property in Grabouw is becoming increasingly harder to sell. It could so easily have gone the other way, like it did in Swellendam, if only there had been responsible, caring people in charge of Town Planning.

 |

The people who work at the municipality on ground level are, for the most part, wonderful folk who strive to do their jobs well.

 |

Grabouw is situated in an area of supreme natural beauty accompanied by a microclimate that is the envy of the rest of the Cape. One could hardly imagine a more suitable spot for an idyllic little town to prosper.
It is worth caring for. It is worth saving. It is worth not bending to the reckless pressures that treat it as a sacrificial political pawn. It is worth standing up to the growing mass of indifferent rabble who treat this beautiful place as their personal toilet.

The ANC plunders, steals and destroys, and the results can be seen everywhere in the Mangaung Metro. Hardly any services are run as they should, and used to be run 15, 20 years ago. The ANC has effectively bitten off the hand which has been feeding it since 1994.
I say again: if you want to steal, maintain the infrastructure which allows you to do so, lest you destroy everything, and yourself, in the process. Be clever about it. Have some savvy.

 |

Private citizens jumping in to fix and maintain things which the municipality is too useless to do, or do not have the skills to do.

 |

The solution is simple: get the ANC out of Mangaung and allow us to manage our own metro with or without the help of a political party which is actually interested in promoting the health and wellbeing of citizens. Allow us to take over the reigns and kick out this ANC owned municipality and all of its ghost employees. Simple.

The readings for utilities are not a true reflection. I use handigas stove and solar geyser. I live with my 6 year old and we normally don't use the TV. Our fridge is the only appliance that is consuming power 24/7. Load shedding has been hitting us. Bills are rising monthly. Worse being that the meter box is always unsecured and they left it like that when they came once to check something.

 |

 |

Unicipalities should not use rates as revenue. They need to have proper facilities where they charge minimal (e.g. below Virgin Active) and allow people to enjoy those places. San Parks charges very little and we still visit them. People love gated complexes with swimming pools and club houses to host their kids parties because municipalities long abdicated their role to the developers. Municipality is the Mother Developer. They need to own their space.

There is RAW sewage pouring into our rivers and into the sea. Bathing is banned and our coastline has been shut down which affects our main industry which is tourism.
Safety and crime has become a major issue and street lights dont work in many areas and the SAPS are often unhelpful. Our once beautifully kept beaches and towns are being maintained mostly by members of the public.

 |

Beautiful beaches and fabulous coastline.
Good commercial potential with everything holiday makers need.

 |

If we all make a contribution and work together we can make this the most beautiful coatal centre with abundant opportunities for everyone.
